EMERGENCY

Since 2020, ISHKAR has been raising funds to help support EMERGENCY’s work in Afghanistan, raising over £80,000 in 2021 following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

EMERGENCY provides free, high-quality healthcare to victims of war, poverty and landmines, alongside building hospitals and training local staff. Founded in 1994, EMERGENCY has treated over 12 million people in 19 different countries and currently operates in Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Italy, Sierra Leone, Sudan & Uganda.

EMERGENCY has been working in Afghanistan since 1999 and has built a vital, comprehensive healthcare network including 3 Surgical Centres, a Maternity Hospital, and over 40 First Aid Posts and Primary Healthcare Facilities in remote areas, all connected by a 24/7 ambulance network. The charity has treated over 7 million Afghan patients, while also training and employing local people to be medical staff (over 97% of EMERGENCY staff working in the field are local people).

Since 2020, ISHKAR has been raising funds to help support EMERGECY’s work in Afghanistan, raising over £80,000 in 2021 following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

Now, with the country experiencing economic collapse, widespread poverty and its worst drought in years, EMERGENCY’s role in Afghanistan is even more critical.

All funds raised by ISHKAR will go towards EMERGENCY’s projects across Afghanistan, helping build more hospitals and clinics, train more Afghan people to be medics, and treating more people in need of free, high-quality healthcare.

Donating to EMERGENCY will help people in Afghanistan both for today, and for years to come. Every donation is incredibly important. If you can, please donate today using this link:  https://donate.emergencyuk.org/ishkar/
