Bonfire is capsule collection designed and handcrafted by Saeeda Etebari in the old city of Kabul.
The stacked elements of sterling silver, brass and emerald mirror layed bonfires and the dormant explosive energy they represent.
Saeeda lost her hearing as a child whilst living in a Pakistani refugee camp. Saeeda spent most of her time drawing as her siblings attended school and after returning to Kabul following the fall of the Taliban, she discovered a talent for making and designing jewellery.
Today much of her work is inspired by nature's elements. With support from the Turquoise Mountain Foundation her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C and Buckingham Palace in London.
Designing a piece that somebody will wear is a special experience for me. I love making a connection with someone through a shared sense of beauty.
