30,905 Trees Planted in Afghanistan

We are all aware of the impact flying has on the environment. As a travel company we believe it is our responsibility to lighten the traveller’s burden through our tree planting initiative. We launched our first tree-planting planting project in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, where many people’s livelihoods are directly impacted by the climate crisis. We hope this project will continue to reverse damaging trends of deforestation in the region, while providing wood as a source of affordable, sustainable energy for cooking and heating.

There is a lot of hype about tree planting, and some of it is not so good. We don’t believe it's enough to simply plant a tree - or two - per flight, without a tangible impact. We have spent a long time researching varieties of local sapling, soil quality and tree mortality rate and have established a formula to ensure long-term carbon capture:

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the planting has been postponed.
We will begin planting early 2021 and we are committed to growing this initiative the more trips we run.
